General Notes: Husband - Nathan A. McLaughlin

He was born on the old family homestead in Clover township, Jefferson County, Pennsylvania, and in the public schools of the neighborhood he received his education. He never left the old homestead, which he purchased of his father, for whom he cared after the death of his mother. The place, which was situated two miles north of Summerville, was improved with excellent buildings which were erected by his father. 125 of the 200 acres were under cultivation. In connection with general farming he followed lumbering throughout his business career.
He was a member of the I. O. O. F.; politically he was identified with the Republican party.
