In the year 1820 six brothers, Hiram, Darius, George, Nathan, Euphrastus and John Carrier, purchased ninety-six acres of land and all the mills at Troy, Jefferson County, Pennsylvania, they and their descendants continuing to own the same for many years, rebuilding the mills several times.
