General Notes: Husband - Frederick B. Caldwell
Civil War: he enlisted from Clearfield, Pennsylvania, in the "Bucktail Regiment" for three years, and on the expiration of his term re-enlisted. He was wounded in the battle of Fredericksburg, and lost an arm, causing his retirement from the service. He attended school on his return home, preparing himself for teaching, and for a number of years taught in the public schools of his section.
He made his home Curwensville, Clearfield County, Pennsylvania, with the exception of fourteen years in Kansas and a few years at Julian, Centre County, where he was employed as a telegraph operator.
