General Notes: Husband - David R. Porter "Port" Zahniser
He was a farmer and resided on the homestead of his father in Jackson Township, Mercer County, PA. Without children of his own he became an endeared foster father to the sons of his wife by her former marriage. He was a Republican and a deacon in the Bethany Cumberland Presbyterian Church. In the Civil War he served as a member of Co. D., 211 P. V.
