General Notes: Husband - Jonathan Buffington
He owned and operated a gristmill at North Brook, near the site of the battle of the Brandywine. At the time of that battle (September, 1777) this mill was taken possession of by the British troops, and the non-combatant Friend compelled to furnish food for the British.
