General Notes: Husband - James M. Abrams

He was reared and educated in his native city, where he always resided. His first business venture was in the jewelry line, which he followed for about twelve years. In 1841 he turned his attention to the study of dental surgery, a profession which he practiced for thirty-five years. In 1880 he retired from active business, allowing his son, James H., to succeed him in Brownsville. He was a member of the Presbyterian church; in politics he was a Prohibitionist.
