General Notes: Husband - Thomas Warrell Brockman

When a small boy, he was taken in charge by his grandfather Warrell, with whom he made his home until he had attained his majority. For five years after his marriage he managed the Warrell farm, one-half mile west of Prosperity, which he later owned, and on which he resided. In 1889 he opened a furniture and undertaking business in Prosperity, the undertaking department of which he long conducted on quite an extensive scale, though the furniture department was dropped in 1891. Mr. Brockman was also dealing in real estate in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. In politics he adhered to the principles of the Republican party, though he was not a partisan.
He and his wife believed in enjoying life, and devoted considerable time to travel. During the oppressive summer months of each year they spent the time at some watering place, having in the summer of 1891 made an extensive trip up the Great Lakes.

He was reared on a farm in Washington County, Pennsylvania, and educated in the schools of that county and at Jefferson academy, graduating from the latter institution in 1883. After graduation he returned to the farm in Washington County, where he remained until 1890. From 1890 to 1895 he was engaged in the undertaking business at Prosperity, Washington County. On Oct. 1, 1895, Mr. Brockman moved to Homestead, where he then engaged in business. In October, 1898, he sold out his feed and builders' supplies business, which he had conducted for several years, and, March 1, 1899, purchased the undertaking business of J. H. Gillen. Mr. Brockman then devoted his time exclusively to the undertaking business, and had the leading undertaking establishment in Homestead.
He and his wife were members of the United Presbyterian church. He was a member of Homestead lodge, No. 1049, I. O. O F., of which he was a past grand; of B. P. O. E., Gervais commandery, Knights of Malta, and several other fraternal orders. In politics he was a republican. He served as school director from the fourth ward, Homestead.
