He moved from Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, to Toby township, Clarion County, about 1820. Later he took up his residence in Porter township, where he and his wife spent their remaining days. He passed away at the age of seventy-eight. He was a successful farmer and accumulated a good property. He held membership in the Reformed Church.
