General Notes: Husband - John R. Boyer

---

He was born on his father's farm in Lancaster township, Butler County, Pennsylvania, and resided with his parents until 1859, in which year he married. Soon after his marriage he purchased a farm of sixty-five acres in Connoquenessing township, lived on it for seven or eight years, then removed to Harmony and engaged in the hotel business for a short time. He next purchased 140 acres of land in Jackson town­ship, on which he resided for six years, then sold out and bought a homestead in Lancaster township, consisting of 218 acres. His farm lay in the oil belt, and some developments took place thereon. He and his wife were members of the Ger­man Reformed church, and in politics, he was an adherent of the Republican party. He was a member of the Royal Arcanum.
