General Notes: Husband - John R. Boyer
He was born on his father's farm in Lancaster township, Butler County, Pennsylvania, and resided with his parents until 1859, in which year he married. Soon after his marriage he purchased a farm of sixty-five acres in Connoquenessing township, lived on it for seven or eight years, then removed to Harmony and engaged in the hotel business for a short time. He next purchased 140 acres of land in Jackson township, on which he resided for six years, then sold out and bought a homestead in Lancaster township, consisting of 218 acres. His farm lay in the oil belt, and some developments took place thereon. He and his wife were members of the German Reformed church, and in politics, he was an adherent of the Republican party. He was a member of the Royal Arcanum.
