General Notes: Husband - Rev. Addison Bartholomew Bowser
He attended public school in Armstrong County, Pennsylvania, graduated from Reed Institute, in the class of 1884, and took his college course at Bucknell University, from which he was graduated in 1888. He then took a theological course at Crozer Seminary, Upland, Pennsylvania, graduating in the class of 1890, after which he was located in Pittsburgh as minister of the Third Baptist Church of that city, where he remained for three years. His next charge was the First Baptist Church at Danville, Pennsylvania, where he was located for nine years, after which he went to Millville, New Jersey, where he was pastor of the First Baptist Church for three years. On July 4, 1903, he came to the church at Crafton, near Pittsburgh, where he was pastor of the First Baptist Church.
Mr. Bowser was a successful composer of music, and published several song books through such well-known men as E. O. Excell, Dr. George F. Root and Prof. E. Avergnet of Bucknell University. While in college Mr. Bowser wrote many songs for his own and other classes.
General Notes: Wife - Ella Zelima Stebbins
She received her education in the public schools and at Bucknell University. Her musical talent and training made her assistance very valuable to her husband.
