General Notes: Husband - George Bovard
In 1844 he was one of the founders of Maple Furnace, in Butler County, Pennsylvania, where in partnership with Henry Graff he was a proprietor of an iron and steel foundry, which was later abandoned, as was the town. In 1851 he moved to Armstrong County, Pennsylvania, living in Manorville until 1870, and until his retirement in 1880 was actively connected with the oil business, buying and selling oil producing land, operating wells, and organizing companies to develop territory. From 1880 until his death he lived retired. Mr. Bovard was a Republican in all political action, and affiliated with the United Presbyterian Church.
