General Notes: Husband - Robert Black


He was reared on the homestead farm, which he afterwards purchased. He was a leading member of the Whig party, and served two terms in the legislature. He died at Harrisburg during his second term. [Another source: he died during his fourth term as a member of the legislature.]
He was a captain of the Springfield Light Infantry when it was organized.
