This family is of Huguenot stock, among those who sought refuge in Ireland for the sake of religious liberty shortly after the revocation of the Edict of Nantes by Louis XIV, in 1725. In that intrepid little band that settled in Bally Kelly, County Derry, were William and Mary Ramage.
