He was born on the old family homestead, and there spent his entire life up to within a short time of his death, when he removed to Middletown, where he died. His entire active life, however, had been spent on the old property, which he was very active in conducting as a first-class farm.
He was extremely fond of outdoor sports, particularly of hunting. He was a fine shot with the rifle and took many trips with parties of congenial comrades to hunt large game.
