General Notes: Husband - Jacob F. Hudson
He was born in Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, and not only spent his boyhood and youth in his father's house, but lived there throughout the period of his early manhood, rendering valuable assistance to the family. About 1870 he became the tenant of the Henry George farm. It contained one hundred and seventy five acres and had various owners, being the property, later, of the Keystone Coal Company. The brick house was built by Henry George in the forties, the barn bearing the date of 1851. For many years he was identified with road work, serving eight years as roadmaster under Supervisor James McDermott. In the course of time Mr. Hudson became the successor of Mr. McDermott, holding the office of supervisor for a term of four years. He was then reelected for a term of six years. In the sphere of politics, he adhered to the Republican party.
