General Notes: Husband - George Bell
He was the first of his siblings to leave the old farm in Paxton, Lancaster (later a part of Dauphin) County, Pennsylvania. He settled in what is now Mifflin County about 1765. If he made earlier attempts to settle there, he was driven away during the Indian wars.
He, his wife, and most of their children were buried on the old family farm at Belltown, Mifflin County, Pennsylvania. Unfortunately tombstones were never erected and the burial ground eventually became a plowed field. This seems to be typical of the Scotch-Irish. The family knew where the graves were and thought that was all that was necessary. The old family Bible was also lost.
