General Notes: Husband - Jacob West

Upon his arrival in America from England, he located in Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania. He served eight years in the Revolutionary war, and spent the memorable winter in General Washington's army at Valley Forge, living two weeks at a time on nothing but roasted potatoes, without salt, and working night and day, shoeing horses and making horse shoes and nails. After the cessation of hostilities he moved to Lebanon County, Pennsylvania, and engaged in the manufacture of wagons and stage coaches. His death, which was very sudden, occurred in that county about the year 1787.
