General Notes: Husband - Samuel T. Zahniser
He and his wife had nine children; three died small.
He was a farmer, served as township supervisor, and was a member of the Methodist Episcopal Church thirty-three years. He was a Democrat.
His entire life was spent on the farm in Jefferson Township, Mercer County, PA, where he was born. His wife was totally blind for 25 years before her death. Both were active members of the Methodist church. He was a Democrat and was elected to many local offices by his fellow citizens.

She was a consistent member of the Methodist Episcopal Church at Charleston, Mercer County, PA. She was blind for twenty-five years before her death.
