Raphoe, County Donegal, Ireland

He was a prosperous citizen of the town, holding the lease of two town lands, about eight hundred acres, and in order to reach an absconding debtor who had borrowed largely from the community he was induced to visit America. There he was taken with fever, and died in Wilmington, Delaware, about 1776. His property quickly disappeared, as he was charged with having joined the Colonists in their rebellion.
