General Notes: Husband - Anthony Silveus
He was educated in the common schools, until eighteen years old, when he devoted his entire time to farming. He owned the Matthew DeFrance farm, in Jackson Township, Mercer County, Pennsylvania, from which he retired in 1884. He was elected burgess of Jackson Centre in 1885, 1887 and 1888. He was once a member of the I. O. O. F. He and his wife were members of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church of Jackson Centre, and he was leader of the choir there. He was a Democrat, read the Western Press for over thirty years, and was a member of the Central Committee of his party and a delegate to the conventions.
