General Notes: Husband - Vance Stewart
He grew to manhood in his native township, and attended school in the primitive log school-house of pioneer days. In the spring of 1844 he removed to Upper Sandusky, OH, returning to Mercer County three years afterward. With the exception of this period, and a few years spent in the oil country, his whole life was passed in his native county. He settled on a farm south of Greenville in 1862, removing to Greenville in 1864. The family were Presbyterians in religious faith, and Republicans in politics.
