He drove his team and brought his family to Erie County, Pennsylvania, in 1836. He was drafted by the British in the War of 1812. He reared a family of twelve children, nine were living in 1884; he was a prominent farmer, and died when ninety-three years of age. His father was a Revolutionary soldier.
