General Notes: Husband - James Barr

He was born in Mifflin County, Pennsylvania, removed to Erie County in 1803, and settled, with his father, at the mouth of Twenty-Mile creek.
After his marriage he moved to his tract of 400 acres, which he owned in Harbor Creek, about three-fourths of a mile east of the later railroad station. He removed from Harbor Creek to Mill Creek about April 1, 1830, to his (Reserve) tract, No. 28, upon which he died.
He was a captain in Col. Philip's regiment of militia, and served in the war of 1812-14. He encamped at Erie, in defense of the harbor, and was a volunteer captain with Gen. Harrison in his Western campaign.
