General Notes: Husband - Sylvanus Richards

He was born on a farm near Meadville, Crawford County, Pennsylvania, and there the earlier years of his life were spent in the usual occupations of a farmer's son of that period. After his marriage he commenced work as an oil driller, and followed that occupation continuously for many years, becoming one of the oldest men in that field of industry in Pennsylvania. For a period of fifteen years he lived at Bradford, and later lived at Oakdale, Pennsylvania. Politically, he was a Democrat, and he was a member of the Ancient Order of United Workmen. He and his wife were members of the Presbyterian church.
