General Notes: Husband - James Brown Scouller
He graduated at Dickinson College, in 1839, and studied theology at Allegheny; was licensed by Big Spring Presbytery April 19, 1842, and ordained by New York Presbytery, Nov. 13, 1844; ministered in Philadelphia (1844-1840), Cuylersvire, New York (1847-1852), and at Argyle, New York (1852-1862), when ill-health compelled him to relinquish preaching. He published a large number of historical works, chiefly relating to the U. P. Church, the principal of which was "A Manual of the United Presbyterian Church,'' which, beside much important historical data, included brief biographical sketches of nearly fifteen hundred ministers of the United Presbyterian Church of North America. He was a Doctor of Divinity, and later resided at Newville, Pennsylvania.
