He was born April 5. [HMC 1888, 748] He died in 1893. [HMC 1909, 757]
In 1836 the family moved from Union County, Pennsylvania, to a farm in Hickory Township, Mercer County, where he resided until his death.
In 1836 he came to Mercer County, Pennsylvania, with his family, locating in Hickory Township. Buying a strip of wild land in the locality known as Keel Ridge, he improved a homestead and there lived until his death, when upwards of eighty years old. He was prominent in the work of the Evangelical church, of which he was a devout member, he having erected the church edifice at Hermitage and assisted in furnishing it.
He and his wife had fifteen children, twelve of whom reached maturity.
He died in 1891. [HMC 1909, 524]
