General Notes: Husband - William Frederick "Fred" Peffer


He was reared on the home place and received his education in the district schools and the schools of Harmony. He worked on the farm until he was 20 years old, and then traveled through the country selling and repairing organs. About 1886 he opened a store for the sale of pianos and organs in Evans City, Butler County, Pennsylvania, and thereafter conducted this business.
He was always a Republican. He was a member of the Presbyterian church. Fraternally, he is a member of Evans City Lodge, No. 817, I. O. O. F., of which he was secretary a number of years; and of the Encampment, I. O. O. F.
