General Notes: Husband - Abram "Abe" Patterson

He succeeded his father in the contracting business. When eighteen years of age he enlisted in the 13th Pennsylvania volunteer infantry, served three years in the Civil War, and participated in many important engagements, being severely wounded in the seven days' fights around Richmond. He was a member of Post No. 88, Grand Army of the Republic, which came to be called the Abe Patterson post, after him. He served seven terms as post commander, and was occupying that position at the time of his death.
