General Notes: Husband - James Smith

---

He was born in Ireland and was twelve years of age when he came to America with his parents, who located at Bloomington, Illinois. He came to western Pennsylvania during the building of the Beaver Canal and after it was completed, he worked as a farmer for a Mr. Harris and then bought a farm which was later owned by Ross Smith. Later he bought a farm in Perry Township which later belonged to his son, James F., on which he passed the remainder of his life.
