He attended the public schools of his neighborhood, graduated in 1886 from Monmouth College, and in 1892 became professor of mathematics at the State Normal School, Indiana, Pennsylvania. He then took a course in medicine in the Western Reserve and Wooster University, graduating in 1896 with the degree of Doctor of Medicine, and then engaged in practice in Cleveland, Ohio. He was a member of the County, State and National societies.
