He and his wife were married at the Friend's Monthly Meeting at Fallston, Maryland, in 1682, and in the same year they are recorded as having been received into the Friend's Meeting of Chester County, Pennsylvania.

He and his wife were living in Middletown township [Chester County, Pennsylvania?] early in the 1700s, he having purchased land there in 1708.
