General Notes: Husband - Jacob Fortenbaugh


After his marriage, he moved to near Dover, York County, Pennsylvania, where he worked in a tannery for sometime and also taught school. He sold his property at Dover, and in the spring of 1848, he moved to Perry County, Pennsylvania, where he purchased a farm and lived on it until near the close of his life. He and his family were members of the Church of God. He was an Elder of the Glen Vale Church of God from its organization to his death. By occupation he was a farmer. In the spring of 1876 he and his wife quit housekeeping and went to live with their son, Jacob H. Fortenbaugh, in Cumberland County, Pennsylvania.
