General Notes: Husband - David Reid

He grew to manhood on the home farm, his youth being passed after the manner of that of the majority of boys, in home duties, school attendance, and pleasure, and after his father's death he and his brother William purchased the rights of their co-heirs in the home property, then divided it, the share of David Reid being one hundred and fifty-eight acres. He lived there until his death, at one time owning a large flock of sheep, the rest of the time engaging in general operations of an agricultural nature. As a Republican he was elected to the office of justice of the peace, and served as such for many years. With his wife he belonged to the United Presbyterian church.
