General Notes: Husband - Robert McKean

He was born in Allegheny township, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, where he followed farming for nearly half a century. In the early years of his life he was employed in the keel-boat business on the Allegheny river, making trips between several New York towns and Pittsburgh. He married and settled down to farming which he then followed until his death. He purchased and cleared out a farm of one hundred and ten acres of land. He was a stanch democrat and a faithful member of the Catholic church.

He was engaged in the construction of the Pennsylvania canal, and after its completion purchased ninety-four acres of land.
