General Notes: Husband - William McCreery
He was born in Ireland, and came, in 1792, with his father and family, to America, and lived for some years in what are now Juniata and Mullin counties, Pennsylvania. About 1800, he removed to what is now Conemaugh township, Indiana County, where his father and a brother, Andrew, had previously settled on what later became the Hugh Speedy farm. In removing his goods from Mifflin County to Conemaugh township, he made nineteen trips on pack-horses. In 1803, he purchased the homestead later occupied by his son, William G., in East Mahoning, made a clearing, built a cabin, and put in a crop. In the autumn of 1804, he was married, and in the spring of 1805 he removed to his new home.
The McCreery homestead was purchased of William P. Brady, in 1803. It contained one hundred and twenty acres, and cost three dollars per acre.
