General Notes: Husband - George Ashman Torrence
He followed in his father's footsteps and engaged in merchandising all his active life. He was one of the organizers and a director of the Southwest Pennsylvania railroad from its inception until merged with the Pennsylvania railroad system. He was a member of the Connellsville common council, and served on the school board. In religious faith he was an Episcopalian.
