General Notes: Husband - William J. Marks
When thirteen years of age he went to work in a store, and was ever after connected with merchandising. He was later located at Glade Mills, Butler County, PA, where he carried on a general store. He was a member of the Presbyterian church, and one of the liberal supporters of that denomination. In politics, he was a Republican, filled the offices of township treasurer and clerk, represented his township in the county conventions for several years, and was a very active participant in local political affairs. He was a member of the oil firm of McCandless & Marks, who had extensive territory in Middlesex township, known as the Glade Mills field.
