General Notes: Husband - William Marks
He was born in County Down, Ireland, and grew to manhood in his native land. About 1843 he immigrated to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where he married and soon afterwards came to Butler County, and located on what was later known as the Ogden farm, in Middlesex township. He subsequently removed into Allegheny County, where he followed farming and stock-dealing until 1879, when he again came to Butler County, and resided there until 1883. In that year he returned to Allegheny County, and remained in that county until his death. He was a member of the Presbyterian church, and in politics, he was an adherent of the Republican party.
He served as a soldier in the Civil War, enlisting from Richland Township, Butler County, PA.
