General Notes: Husband - William H. Liddle
He attended the public schools in Brady township, Clearfield County, Pennsylvania, and afterward engaged in teaching school and for fourteen years followed this occupation. In 1882 he took a commercial course in a business college, at Lebanon, Ohio, and after his graduation returned to Clearfield County.
In 1894 he entered the business of general merchandise at Spangler, Cambria County, and continued in the business for three years when he sold out. In 1897 he purchased a farm of 165 acres, which lay in Goshen township, six miles northeast of Clearfield; additionally he owned forty-six acres of land in Sandy township, which was left him by his father. In politics he was a Democrat and on the ticket of that party was frequently elected to township offices, served as school director and road superintendent, and for many years was a justice of the peace, and was probably one of the most active officials in this relation in the township. He belonged to the Farmers' Alliance and Industrial Union, being one of the state officers; one of the leading insurance companies of the county, and almost since its organization gave support to the Grange, or Patrons of Husbandry.
