General Notes: Husband - Benjamin Lehman

---

He was reared on the old family homestead, and received his education in the public schools of the locality. He was trained to farming from early boyhood, and chose that calling for his life work, in 1870 purchasing the old homestead, which comprised 175 acres of highly improved and valuable land. He also owned another farm of 163 acres, adjoining. He served his fellow citizens in various public positions, as school director and director of the county poor. In politics he was a stanch Republican.
