General Notes: Husband - James Marshall
When about seven years of age he emigrated with his parents to the head-waters of the north branch of Pine creek, in the outskirts of what was then known as the Glade Run settlement, where they settled, and where he spent the remainder of his youth.
He married and lived on his father's farm until 1832, when he purchased of his brother, Joseph Marshall, a farm in Wayne township, Armstrong County, Pennsylvania, and removed to it. This farm was situated about three and one half miles from Dayton. At this time he had two sons, William and Thomas. In the year following the purchase of this farm, his wife and sons all died, their deaths being in close succession. Mr. Marshall then resided with his sister, Mrs. Katie Calhoun, and farmed his farm until his second marriage.
