The latter served in the last three years of the Revolution. He migrated to Derry township, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, in 1790.
The Pearces are of Scotch-Irish descent, who originally settled in Monmouth County, New Jersey, about the year 1740. Isaac M. Pearce removed west in 1792 and bought a farm in Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, near New Alexandria.
