General Notes: Husband - William Lintner

---

He received most of his education under his brother John, who was a school teacher and a graduate of Washington and Jefferson College. He also attended Blairsville Academy, in which his brother John taught. Remaining on the homestead until he was of age, William then commenced farming on his own account in Derry township, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, on a tract of 140 acres known later as the Crabbs farm. After five years' residence there, he sold out and removed to the Aurentz farm in Burrell township, Indiana County, which contained 112 acres. This place was later operated by his son, David Elliott Lintner. He devoted the remainder of his active years to farming and stock raising, in which he was successful. He took an active part in its affairs of the community for many years, and served as township assessor and register a number of terms. He was a leading member of the Presbyterian Church in Blairsville, in which he held the office of deacon. He was also interested in Sunday school work in his early years and acted as superintendent of a rural Sunday school near his home. In politics he was a Republican.
