General Notes: Husband - John Kepple

He was born in Salem township, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, about six miles north of Greensburg, on his father's old farm near White Thorn creek. He cleared up his farm and erected a grist mill, which was widely known as Kepple's Mill, where he handled flour in large amounts, finding a market for the same at Blairsville and even shipped the same by canal to Pittsburgh. He continued in this business until 1859. He also owned a farm of three hundred and twenty acres.
He and his wife were both active in the Congruity Presbyterian Church. He was very active in all public matters, and was a staunch supporter of the Republican party and the policies and principles for which it stood.
He and his wife were the parents of twelve children, ten of whom grew to maturity.
