General Notes: Wife - Jane Work
"She was born on the old family homestead. She lived at home, doing her duty, until she was a young lady, when she taught school one term. She married and lived near her former home, on a farm. She was a good scholar for the chance they had in those times, and had the best memory of any one I ever knew. She could repeat all the psalms and most of the hymns and New Testament. If any one was reading any place in the Bible, and would make a mistake, she would correct them without looking. Like David of old, she loved to pray, and was always glad when Sabbath morning came, so she could go to church and hear the blessed word of God. She was a devout christian mother, and I miss her. A few moments before she died she said to me: "I am going home; good-by." Then she closed her eyes, folded her hands, and her spirit took its flight."
