General Notes: Husband - William Ashbaugh

He grew up on the homestead farm and attended such schools as the district afforded, when a boy. At his father's death he inherited a share of the home farm and became a prosperous farmer, owning one hundred and thirty-four acres of well tilled land in Salem and Beaver townships, a goodly portion underlaid with coal. He was a hard working, quiet, retiring man, devoted to his family, and a good citizen. Both he and his wife were members of the Lutheran church. In political faith he was a Democrat, but never sought public office.
