General Notes: Husband - James H. Arnold

He was educated in the public schools of Indiana County, Pennsylvania. He learned the tinning and plumbing business with his father. Until he was twenty-four years of age he remained with his father, and in 1882 engaged with Hertman Brothers, of McKeesport, for one year as foreman. At the end of that time he established a business of his own in McKeesport, where he spent some eighteen years, and in 1898 went to Monessen. He there established a plumbing and roofing business, to which for about eighteen months he gave his exclusive attention. He then sold out and associated himself with the Monessen Water Company as field superintendent, filling this position for five years. During this period he was really the builder of the plant, inasmuch as everything was done under his personal supervision. He resigned this position February 1, 1905, and the same month established a business, that of general plumbing and gas-fitting.
