General Notes: Husband - Dr. Josiah Barton Johnson

He was born in Allegheny, Pennsylvania, later North Side, Pittsburgh, where he received his preparatory education, graduating from the high school in 1895. In 1899 he graduated from the Western Pennsylvania Medical College. Immediately thereafter Dr. Johnson began practice in association with Dr. Charles Shaw, of Pittsburgh, but within a few years removed to Ligonier, where he then engaged in the work of his profession. He belonged to the Westmoreland County Medical Society and the American Medical Association. The principles of the Republican party were those to which Dr. Johnson gave his political allegiance, modified by decided leanings toward Independent methods. He was past master of Ligonier Lodge, No. 33, Free and Accepted Masons, and was a member of the Protestant Episcopal church.
