General Notes: Husband - Frank W. Hill
He was reared near Leechburg, Armstrong County, Pennsylvania, and received his education in the common schools and the public schools of that place. His attendance at school was interrupted for one year, which he spent as a clerk in a store. Leaving school, he became a salesman in a Bradford, Pennsylvania, carpet house, which position he held for two years and then, in 1884, resigned to engage in the insurance business. One year later he removed to Kittanning, where he purchased the insurance office of Joseph Painter and proceeded to build up an extensive and prosperous business. In the insurance line of his business he represented the following five old, large companies: Royal, London Assurance Corporation, Hartford Fire, American Fire and Travelers' Life and Accident.
He was a member and vestryman of St. Paul's Protestant Episcopal church. Politically he was a democrat and was a delegate to the State democratic convention of 1887.
