General Notes: Husband - George S. Hixson

---

He resided at his father's home until he had reached young manhood. He attended the local public schools of East Huntingdon township, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, and assisted his father with the home farm. He remained with his father until five years after his marriage, when he purchased his own farm, a most fertile one, consisting of some thirty-five acres, which was included as a part of that farm which was originally inhabited by his wife's family, where she herself was born. After purchasing it Mr. Hixson added largely to the original dwelling and barn which stood on the property. He was highly successful in his operations there, carrying on general farming.
